CREATING A SENSE OF PLACE

FORM | FUNCTION | BEAUTY

PROCESS
The design process should always be collaborative. A client shares aspirations. The architect consolidates those aspirations into an ordered graphical language that ultimately serves as a set of  instructions to the builder. The builder assembles these instructions into built form. When this collaboration is approached as a team, with all team members working in the interest of the aspiration, the project will ultimately be a true success for all parties.
MANIFESTATION
Good architecture is embodied in visual beauty and order, as well as in ease of function. It should enhance our lives through its physical beauty and how it syncs with and enhances our lifestyle. The architect must understand each client's goals and needs and must come to know how that person values and appreciates aspects of his or her physical, sensory surroundings in a day-to-day sense. This understanding should be inherent prior to putting pencil to paper.
